LG's new generation V30 smartphone could be with us sooner than expected. Although the phone is not unveiled before August 31 in Berlin, Android Authority reports that LG plans to start selling the V30 from September 28 in the US.
The report also indicates that LG will start selling the flagship V30 in South Korea from 15 September. The early launch in South Korea should not be a big surprise. Even if there were no details when LG was planning to sell the V30 in Europe, the report said it was due to arrive on 28 September, the same date the aircraft reached the global market.
LG V30 has been the subject of several leaks and rumors over the past few weeks. LG V-series is known for its secondary displays, but the companys latest flagship may not be featured with the brand. Instead, the smartphone should get a 6-inch OLED display, edge to edge. Expected returns include a secondary slide display, although it is not clear whether LG intends to go with the same models.
As for the smartphones of the previous generation of the company, LG V30 should receive two rear cameras, a rear window, a rear-print scanner and an integrated earphone DAC. Speaking of the specifications, it will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage and the Android 7.0 nougat and higher. What is not clear, however, what is the size of the battery.
Unlike Apple and Samsung, LG strives to sell its headlights in large numbers. Last year, the companys G5 did not meet expectations, which resulted in the most serious quarterly losses. Now, LGs mobile unit blamed the G6s mediocre sales for its underperformance. Last week, LG announced the results for the second quarter - and it reports a loss in the mobile unit.
The IFA press conference of LG is scheduled for August 31 in Berlin. This years annual fair will begin on September 1st. The show is a six-day event and will end on September 6th.
